Rottweil

The former imperial city on the Neckar welcomes the visitor with a magnificent cityscape. The city center with its proud town houses invites you to immerse yourself in past centuries. Mighty town houses with unusual oriels and original engraved signs characterize the cityscape. The museums tell of Rottweil's eventful history. The three town churches Heilig-Kreuz- Münster, the Protestant Predigerkirche and the Kapellenkirche with the Kapellenturm, the landmark of Rottweil, are of art-historical interest.

The oldest city in Baden-Württemberg

Old and new - in Rottweil these are not opposites, but an expression of a very special attitude to life. Tradition is cultivated and highly valued - especially at the Rottweil Fasnet, one of the high points of the Swabian-Alemannic carnival.

Rottweil's museums tell the eventful history of the city. Art and culture are offered here in an almost metropolitan range. The location on the upper Neckar is ideal for hiking and cycling tours. Sports, fun and wellness are guaranteed by the outdoor pool, the aquasol with one of the longest tube slides in southern Germany and a wonderful sauna area.

The 246 meter high thyssenkrupp test tower is known beyond the region. The test tower is used to test elevator innovations. At the same time, since October 2017 the tower has offered Germany's highest public visitor platform at 232 meters, providing a breathtaking 360° panoramic view.
