Tuttlingen

The district of Tuttlingen is located in one of the most scenic areas of Baden-Württemberg. Geographically, it includes the southwestern foothills of the Swabian Alb with its highest elevations (Lemberg near Gosheim 1015 m, Klippeneck and Dreifaltigkeitsberg almost 1000 m), parts of the Baar, which already point to the Black Forest, and the valley of the Young Danube. Together with the districts of Rottweil and Schwarzwald-Baar, the district of Tuttlingen forms the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg region. It is one of the twelve regions in Baden-Württemberg.  Attractive hiking destinations are the circular trail to the Höwenegg volcanic crater, to the Lemberg or to the Knopfmacherfelsen.

High above Tuttlingen, on the Honberg, towers the ruin of what was once one of the most important castles in the region...

And even beyond that, the city has a lot to offer:

  • Sports enthusiasts will find modern wellness facilities and extensive opportunities for recreational sports in a wonderful natural landscape.
  • For culture lovers, the town hall and the municipal gallery offer a sophisticated program.
  • Nature lovers get their money's worth in the Danube valley and the Danube seepage.
  • The location between Lake Constance, the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb makes Tuttlingen the ideal starting point for excursionists who want to explore several of the most charming vacation regions in southern Germany.
